A Request To Muslim Brothers: Meditate Your Way To Tolerance

Surfing the Internet, I chanced upon a post full of wisdom. It is a short post by brother CML. He asks:

"Why is it, by the way, that you can make Buddha jokes, amusing or not as the case may be, and nobody minds; not even Buddhists. Yet were I to try the same thing with the Prophet Mohammad my website would be burned down by, like, an angry horde.

I throw it in for debate."
After hours of meditation, and a sleepless night, I think I have the answer:

Middle East, the cradle of Islamic religion, is vastly a desert. That means it is difficult to find a tree in that region. And therefore, unlike those of us who are Buddhists, Muslim brothers never get a chance to meditate under a tree to calm their tempers.

Moreover, the climate in Middle East is rather very hot. And I think that the scorching sun heats up their minds, resulting in confused brainwaves and behavioral patterns resulting in hostile tempers, extreme violence, etc. that can lead to a lack of judgment, as explained below.

Buddhists simply smile and ignore jokes about Buddha. But Muslim brothers take jokes about Prophet Mohammad seriously. In fact, they are so serious, that in their over-zealous attitude, they have forgotten that they too maybe insulting Prophet Mohammad by spreading news about insulting Danish cartoons to more and more people around the world. What few people knew last year, now the whole world knows. As a result, billions of people now are laughing around the world.

The solution to this controversy is simple. Plant more trees in the Middle East, and start Islamic Missionary Centers in Denmark.

A two-dimensional caricature by those who have lots of time on their hands; cannot and should not upset the three or four-dimensional world.

Peace.

All forms of Christianity, and Jewish religion share the common roots with Islam.

If you look at history, Christians have been waging war with Muslims for centuries, and vice versa, while the Jews of course have been slaughtering Palestianians for decades to "own" a land which belonged to Palestine in the first place.

While Christ preached peace, his words have been recorded into absolute and blind faith for the masses, making obsession an absolute must in these religions spawned from his existance. Obsession of course makes you selfish and without half a brain to have the courage to say your religion may just be fake, or derived from Hinduism and Buddhism from Christ's missing 13 years, where he could very well have travelled to India and back to middle east through the silk road. The uncanny resemblence of ideas between Christ's preaching and Buddhism supports this. While Buddhism preaches in non-obsession, Christ's followers took faith too seriously, and this is the greatest product diffrentiation they offer from Buddhism. And of cause, violent people of Europe and Mid-East have turned the reglions of Christianity and Islam into religions of violence and barbaric intolerance.

Brother Hua, you bring up some valid points.

However, despite being a Buddhist, I would like to propose that religion is detrimental to humans, or for that matter any life form's development or awareness.

Lest I am perceived an atheist by saying the above, please do understand that Buddha was (or is) not a "God" in conventional terms.

Buddha was simply a human being who, after decades of meditation and concentration, received the awareness that is termed as "Kalas" (synonymous to the Sanskrit word "Kala" which simply means "time and/or awareness") that can be scientifically appropriated to the awareness and acceptance of every throbbing being. Or in short, everything around us.

It is said that avatars like Buddha, Krishna, etc., had the awareness equivalent to 16 Kalas. Comparatively, we as humans have the awareness (roughly) of 3 or 4 Kalas.

But brother, I might elaborate more on this and related in my next post. Probably tomorrow.

With every throbbing second, you pass through a time-gate you can never return to.

Peace.

I think that one of the other effects of not having trees to shade them from the sun is that their brains have been baked to a golden brown and just dried up any sense of humor they might have.

People have to realize that if you want to play on the world stage, you better have a thick skin. If you preach tolerance and peace, lay down the weapons and seek a common ground rather than a coffin for your enemies.

I just realised that "faith" (what I call obsession) of Abrahamian religions (in Islam, he is known as Ibrahim) is derived from "sincerity" of Buddhism.

Such foul corruption of the original idea.

When we are born our brains are like empty computers waiting to be fed information. As we grow our peers act as our programmers, they supply us with the knowledge which we channel through the conscious mind into the subconscious (our hard drive). The subconscious mind is the biggest hard drive ever developed - it stores everything we come in contact with and by no means is all of this information of a positive nature.
All that we have heard, touched, smelt, tasted and seen are stored in the recesses of our minds. The subconscious mind holds on to this information until we need to recall it. For example when you were young your curiosity lead you to investigate your surroundings. When you approached a substance that was dangerous, such as fire, your parents or guardians would most likely have rebuked or scolded you if you ventured too near the flame. Perhaps you may even recall an incident when you were physically burned. Your subconscious mind then began to relate scolding (or pain) with the intense heat of the fire and would therefore feed the feelings of the scolding incident back to you whenever you got too close to fire again, thus acting as an early warning system.
This is the mechanism used by our brains to learn. It is also the same method employed by the mind in every situation. The subconscious mind has a tendency to emulate what it sees - it tends to replicate its environment. This is why so many people find themselves in similar relationships and situations that they saw their parents in while they were growing up. Most people also hold very strongly or similar views of their parents.
Think of a time when you gave yourself praise. What words did you use? Do you use the same words that your parents or peers used when they were praising you? The same is applicable when you scold yourself.

Watch your internal dialogue. Look at it closely. It takes diligence to change the way you think. When you notice yourself thinking a negative chose to think the opposite. This way you neutralise the negative thought. Now the think the positive thought again! You have just reversed the negative thinking in that moment and remember you only have this moment. No other time exists!
Daydream about what might be. Imagine things they way you wish them to be. If you catch yourself thinking "this is just a daydream - a fantasy" then stop! Think the opposite. It is not a daydream it is your reality. Now think it again.

By doing this simple procedure you will begin to retrain your subconscious mind to think positively and you will ultimately begin to consciously create a life that dreams are made of! hypnosis
